A Delayed IT Project Can Still Teach You Something Useful

A delayed rollout often leaves a team eager to move on. Taking a short, structured look back can prevent the next project from repeating the same problems.
Compare the original plan with what happened. Were requirements unclear? Did a vendor dependency arrive late? Was testing squeezed out of the schedule? Invite the people who performed the work to describe the handoffs that created confusion. Keep the discussion focused on decisions and conditions rather than blame.
Choose one change to carry forward, such as earlier user testing or a named approval owner. Record it in the next project plan. Lessons become valuable when they change how the next project runs.
