Inventory Connected Equipment Before It Becomes Invisible Risk

Cameras, printers, sensors, and other connected devices can remain in service long after anyone remembers how they were configured. Each device needs an owner and a maintenance plan.

Record what is connected, why the business needs it, who supports it, and how it receives updates. Change default credentials and restrict remote access to approved needs. Work with qualified personnel to segment devices appropriately and coordinate changes around operational requirements. Production equipment may have safety and vendor constraints that ordinary office computers do not.

Start with visibility. A current inventory makes it easier to spot unsupported equipment, plan replacements, and decide which connections should remain enabled.
