Recurring IT Problems Deserve a Root-Cause Review
Advanced Managed IT Technology ยท Archive date: October 31, 2024
The printer fails every Monday. A shared application freezes at the same time each afternoon. Repeated incidents are easy to accept when each individual repair seems small.
Look for patterns across support requests. Record when problems occur, which users are affected, and what temporary fix restores service. Your IT team can use that history to investigate capacity, configuration, equipment health, or a workflow dependency. Schedule preventive work around the business impact rather than waiting for the next interruption.
Measure whether the incidents stop after the change. Fewer repeated tickets and fewer employee workarounds provide a clearer view of improvement than the number of problems someone managed to repair.
