A recovery plan should help people make decisions while systems are unavailable. If the only copy lives on the system that failed, the plan may be difficult to use when it matters most.
Gather operations and IT for a short tabletop exercise. Choose one scenario, identify who receives the first report, and walk through escalation, communication, and recovery priorities. Check how the team would reach vendors and locate essential instructions without normal access. Test technical restores separately in a controlled environment.
Record gaps and assign owners to close them. A rehearsal helps turn backup arrangements and written procedures into a response your team can actually follow.
