Review Vendor Access Before the Next Renewal

A technology vendor may need access to support your business. That access should match the work being performed and should not stay open indefinitely simply because the relationship continues.
Use contract renewals as a reminder to review the connection. Confirm which systems the vendor can reach, how their users authenticate, who approves changes, and how you would revoke access during an incident. Identify the person responsible for reporting security issues and keeping contact information current.
Review the business relationship and technical access together. A vendor list becomes more useful when it shows not only what you pay for, but also which outside organizations can affect your systems and data.
