Welcome Visitors Without Sharing Your Office Network

Advanced Managed IT Technology · Archive date: April 30, 2026

Receptionist helping a visitor connect in a modern office reception area.

Offering internet access to a visitor should not require placing their device beside your business systems. A separate guest network helps create a clearer boundary.

Ask your IT team to configure and verify guest isolation. Check that guest devices cannot reach internal services and that the arrangement works as intended across the equipment involved. Use suitable authentication and keep network equipment maintained. A guest network name alone does not prove separation.

Give reception staff simple instructions for providing access and reporting problems. A welcoming visitor experience and sensible network boundaries can work together when the configuration has been tested and employees understand which network to use.
