Your Backup Needs More Than a Green Checkmark

A successful backup notification tells you a job completed. It does not tell you whether your team can open the restored files or how long the business would wait to resume work.

The familiar 3-2-1 approach provides a useful starting point: three copies of important data, on two storage types, with one copy offsite. Review separation as well as location. Shared credentials or unrestricted connections can let one incident affect multiple copies.

Ask your IT team to restore a representative file into a safe location and record the result. A backup conversation becomes far more useful when you can describe what was recovered, who checked it, and what needs improvement.
